The 2013 prize winner, Abi Freckleton, a graduate of Chelsea College of Art, proposed a Study of Sunlight, containing over a 100 ceramic brushstrokes and long thin painted canvases, each one the result of a visuo-bodily re-engagement with the perception of sunlight.
Each piece reflected differently depending upon the surface glaze, also depending upon how it was positioned and the colour applied to the reverse sides that reflected onto the wall.
